Scanning the QR code on the "VR 360° factory tour" POP display inside Okashi no Kotobukijo lets you watch a 360° VR video of their signature confection "Tochimochi" being made.
You can experience the highlights of the production process — the mochi-pounding machine, the filling machine, and the robot arm in motion — as if you were watching from right beside them.
We also added support for embedding the VR content on the Okashi no Kotobukijo website.
Comment: We introduced this because we wanted to show as many customers as possible the production process of our flagship product, in powerful video form.
What prompted us was that on days when the factory line is idle or being cleaned, customers cannot see the line in operation, and we had long wanted every visitor to be able to see our flagship "Tochimochi" being made. Until now we had displayed photos and videos, but with this VR video we feel we were able to let customers see it from much closer up.
For customers, being able to call up the VR simply by scanning a QR code, with no app installation, is very convenient, and many visitors to the castle have been using it.
