At Rokko Meets Art 2022, we provided technical support with LIQUID AR for "Milking on Mt. Rokko", a work by the artists kammy＋OK!
The three-dimensional work "Milking on Mt. Rokko" was exhibited at Rokko Garden Terrace. Wanting visitors not only to view the work but to take part in it, the artists adopted AR photo frames. Ten distinctive photo frame designs by kammy＋OK! were prepared under the title "Rokko Jukkei" (Ten Views of Rokko), letting visitors choose their favorite design and take commemorative photos together with the spectacular Rokko scenery and "Milking on Mt. Rokko".

Comment: For "Rokko Meets Art 2022", held from Saturday, August 27 to Wednesday, November 23 (national holiday), 2022, LIQUID DESIGN Ltd. supported us as artists with LIQUID AR.
Once it was decided that our three-dimensional work "Milking on Mt. Rokko" (nicknamed "Ushi Milk") would be exhibited on the "Observation Terrace" at Rokko Garden Terrace, we wanted visitors not only to view the work but also to have an interactive art experience, so we planned to introduce AR. However, from my own experience of trying AR at tourist spots, installing an app was often a nuisance, and even after installing it the controls were frequently difficult and stressful.
The biggest appeal of LIQUID DESIGN Ltd.'s LIQUID AR is that it is WebAR and requires no app installation. Their official website was also easy to understand, and the case studies made it easy to picture what actually using it would be like, which is what led us to get in touch.
At the exhibition venue, we presented the "Rokko Jukkei" AR photo frames as a collaboration between the LIQUID AR system provided to us and the graphic design of artist Toshio Kamiya. Scanning any of ten QR codes with a smartphone brings up the corresponding photo frame design, letting visitors take photos together with the artwork and the scenery.
Over the roughly three-month exhibition period, many visitors were able to enjoy "Rokko Jukkei". Another striking effect of introducing the AR photo frames was that visitors stayed longer. Especially for repeat visitors (some came five or six times), it seemed to serve as one motivation to think, "This time let me try this photo frame design."
Thanks to the LIQUID AR photo frames, visitors were able to participate in the artwork themselves, and we are truly delighted that each of them could enjoy taking memorable photos and posting them on social media.
