What Is Ogijima?
Ogijima is an island in the Seto Inland Sea, part of Takamatsu City in Kagawa Prefecture. Amid depopulation in rural areas, the Setouchi Triennale prompted more people to move to the island, both returnees and newcomers; the number of children grew and the school reopened, and it has drawn attention as an island that has regained its vitality.WordCamp has been held in major metropolitan areas such as Tokyo, Osaka, and Nagoya, but this Ogijima event is the first to be held in a rural area. At WordCamp Ogijima, surrounded by nature, an actual camp is also planned.
